TRANSBORDERS FEMINIST MEETING IN ISTANBUL

22 Mar

Transborder Feminist Encounters, which will be organized by Amargi on the 26-27th of May, 2012, aims to bring together the different types of knowledge and experience of people living in different parts of the world in order to enable a sharing of feminist knowledge across borders and boundaries.

Amargi took the first steps towards Transborder Feminist Encounters by inviting feminists who lived in different parts of the world in 2009-2010. What was experienced at that time demonstrated the need for such moments of meeting and sharing in order to expand the area of feminist analysis.

The aim is to meet with feminists who have been a part of, or are currently a part of, feminist organizations in countries to the east and south of Turkey, and examine issues regarding sexism everyone has faced in their own localities together.

More information will be announced…
